Fire Shutters & Curtains – Explained
Unlike a standard Roller Shutter door, a properly installed fire shutter has only one function and that is to act as a fire barrier and prevent the spread of a fire and or smoke at a premises – usually a large commercial premises.
Serchek can provide installation and servicing of 3 types of fire shutter:
Standard finish is curtain, bottom rail, guides & hood galvanised, end plates and fixing angles are finished in one coat of primer paint.
Powder coated finish to a standard range of RAL colours also available (at extra cost).
A higher technical spec of Fire Shutter – not only providing protection from the spread of the fire but also insulating the safe side of the shutter from heat radiation through the shutter.
The curtain, when assembled is held in position with purposely designed end fittings, which act as a curtain alignment system. The bottom panel of the shutter is terminated with a galvanised steel plate with horizontal and vertical slots.
This is an electrically operated Automatic Fire Barrier, to be used to form a barrier against fire and smoke.
